Champlain at the South End Art Hop

Art Hop is nearly here!AH-logo-2013

The greater Champlain College community (students, staff and faculty) will be represented at this massive yearly art event by a show at the Emergent Media Center (Miller Center, Lakeside Campus). The show celebrates the diversity, passion and innovation of creative pursuits here through the display of a variety of work including paintings, photography and video art as well as games developed by student teams at the Emergent Media Center and a program of work by students in the Filmmaking Program.

Accompanying the show on Friday evening will be Cafe Bongo, “a spirited program of music and word” which will include extraordinary student poets the Crazy Dogs and and an Irish folk music jam session.

This show is a collaboration between students in two classes, one of which submitted the work and the other which curated and organized the exhibition. Thanks to instructors Rebecca Scwharz and Chris Thompson for shaping this unique learning activity! A program of work by Champlain Filmmaking students will also be on view at this site after dark on Friday.

And do not forget to check out the interactive media piece at the JDK Gallery at 47 Maple St. that Graphic Design and Digital Media faculty Coby Brownell has been collaborating with a team to produce.

Happy hopping!
