A note from Elaine Young:
Dear Champlain Community,
As you all know I have just recently published Tuned-In Family: How to Cope, Communicate and Connect in a Digital Age. A parent guidebook to help families manage day-to-day integration of technology into their lives, the book is available for purchase from my website: http://www.tunedinfamily.com.
I am excited to announce that I will be speaking this Tuesday, May 6 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Kellogg-Hubbard Library in Montpelier as part of their Parents Event for Raising Children in a Digital Age. Along with our own Dr. Rob Williams, I will be discussing the implications of technology in our daily lives, what it means for family communication, and how to strike the right balance for your family. I will also have some books for sale at the event. It sounds like it will be an interesting discussion and I encourage you to attend, or at least share this opportunity with friends and family in the Montpelier area. http://www.kellogghubbard.org/events/icalrepeat.detail/2014/05/06/943/-/parents-event-raising-children-in-the-digital-age
A little closer to home, I will be presenting my sabbatical process and discussing the evolution of the book, what I’ve learned, and will answer questions right here on campus, Monday, May 12 at noon in Ireland 206. I will also have copies of my book available at that time.
Stay tuned for other events and you can certainly like the Tuned-In Family Facebook page to get announcements of future events: https://www.facebook.com/TunedInFamily
