Alan Stracke had a bone marrow transplant almost seven years ago at Memorial Sloane Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) in NYC. Last year he took part in a special writing program for MSKCC patients and survivors called Visible Ink. Hundreds of patients take part but only a small percentage of their stories are selected for their yearly anthology and only a few of those are selected for their Staged Reading by Broadway actors. Alan’s story, “Comfort in Despair” (about one of his Caribbean experiences) was selected for both the 2014 Visible Ink Anthology and the Staged Reading.
