At the completion of a three-year, college-wide effort to assess student progress in critical thinking and oral communication, Springfield College held a day-long workshop and celebration. Invited to conduct a workshop, along with presenters from Franklin Pierce University (Rindge, NH) and the Center of Inquiry (Crawford, IN), were Champlain’s Assistant Dean for Assessment, Craig Pepin, and Learning Outcomes Director, Ellen Zeman. An engaged group of educators from around New England participated in the Champlain College Competency Card Sort activity and learned about the Core Division’s collaborative model of assessment. No tomatoes were thrown.
